Birmingham International Piano Festival is a new collaborative project between the University of Birmingham and widely-respected concert promoter, Mike Lloyd, in association with Yamaha. This three day festival has been devised by Mike Lloyd and Jo Sweet (Head of University Music and Concerts) to bring some of the world’s finest pianists to Birmingham and the campus.

We welcome the European Union Chamber Orchestra, and the Back to Basie Orchestra, to the Elgar Concert Hall, with internationally reputed pianist Nikolai Demidenko giving the final concert on Sunday afternoon. The Barber Institute of Fine Arts will host recitals by Francesco Piemontesi, and one of the UK's most engaging chamber ensembles, the Cropper Roscoe Welsh Piano Trio, as well as a captivating free lunchtime concert with Piano4Hands, which kicks off the festival on Friday 6 March. We hope you enjoy the performances!
