lcahm-christmas

November 30th saw the 2017 Christmas party held by the School of Languages, Cultures, Art History and Music, as part of our cultural calendar of events.

Around 160 people packed into the venue and were treated to a range of performances by students and staff, including a martial arts Tai Chi routine, a Chinese fan dance, found poetry on the gender and politics of learning languages, Monty Python on Modern Languages and Brexit, music from Various Artists, positive French rap on race and feminism, a Père Noël-Taylor Swift mashup, and song.

Drinks and mince pies were on the house, and the evening concluded with an impromptu disco led by DJ Dr Blunt. A huge thank you to everyone who came to support the event, to those who performed, and to colleagues who helped to organise the event. It was fantastic to see students, staff and even parents celebrating together.
