Rachel Sondhelm and Olivia Fleming: ‘Thy Name Is Woman’

First-year students Rachel and Olivia were involved with the recent production ‘Thy Name is Woman’ a play by the Live Art Society which explores the women of Shakespeare. The performance is described as ‘A multidisciplinary piece of devised performance exploring women in Shakespeare’s plays, using Asian theatre traditions as inspiration. From Lady Macbeth to Juliet to Ophelia, each woman is given the chance to make herself heard’.

Rachel described her experience saying: “it has been absolutely amazing to be a part of this production with such a lovely cast and production team. This is Shakespeare, but not like you’ve ever seen it before.”

Florence Jones, Arianwen Harris and Bronwen Roberts, Berlin Liberal Education Student Conference 2019

Second year students Flo, Ari and Bronwen have had their academic proposal accepted into this year’s Liberal Education Conference in Berlin. Their academic project seeks to uncover the wider implications of Artificial Intelligence on society, excavating the interdisciplinary idea of Circular Economy thinking as a method to harness the positive capabilities of the fourth industrial revolution. Good luck to these three who will present their project at the conference in Berlin at the beginning of May!
