The School of Mathematics is sad to report the death of Professor William Norrie Everitt (10 June 1924 - 17 July 2011). Professor Everitt previously tenured at the University of Birmingham as Mason Chair, Head of the Department (now School) of Mathematics from 1982 to 1989, and later as an honorary Senior Research Fellow until 2009.
