The application process for both the Clinical Research Training Fellowships and Intercalating MBPhDs is usually open between December - March. Those interested are encouraged to contact Principal Investigators working in the field of cancer research at the University of Birmingham to develop their application and project proposal as soon as possible.

Clinical Research Training Fellowship

To apply, we have previously requested the following documents:

  • A detailed CV, including your nationality and country of birth;
  • Names and addresses of two referees, ideally who have supervised your laboratory research, but excluding proposed supervisors for the project;
  • A personal statement highlighting your research experience/capabilities and your reason for applying for a Clinical Academic Training Fellowship at the University of Birmingham; 
  • Copies of your degree certificates with transcripts;
  • Evidence of your proficiency in the English language, if applicable;
  • A completed project proposal which must have been developed with the proposed supervisory team 

Intercalating MBPhD

To apply, we have previously requested the following documents:

  • A detailed CV, including your nationality and country of birth;
  • A personal statement detailing why you are applying for an intercalating MBPhD at the University of Birmingham; 
  • Outline of research interest and experience;
  • Names of two referees;
  • Project preferences (optional)
