On Wednesday the 28th of March, an informal poster session and quiz was held for the postgraduate students within Physics and Astronomy.
The aim was to provide students with the opportunity to learn about other research groups and to allow them to practice presenting their own work, e.g. for conferences. Students were advised that they could make a poster or bring an existing one from their group so as to reduce the pressure on busy students to spend time making a poster. To encourage attendance the event was shared via email, social media and word of mouth from the reps, and informative posters were distributed around various physics buildings. A quiz was arranged for immediately after the poster session to increase the enjoyment of the event. The poster session started at 4:30pm with the quiz starting at 6:30pm. Over 30 students attended the event.
