Professor Glyn Humphreys died unexpectedly on 14 January 2016. Glyn was the Head of the School of Psychology at Birmingham for 15 years during a very formative time for the School and University. Most recently he was the Head of the Department of Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford. He oversaw the establishment of the Birmingham University Imaging Centre (BUIC) and hired many of the staff still in the School to this day. In his field of experimental psychology Glyn was a giant, publishing a large number of influential papers and books. Perhaps even more importantly, he had a hugely positive and permeating influence on the lives of so many of his students, colleagues and collaborators who are mourning his loss.
