Professor Chris Miall has received a Leverhulme Senior Research Fellowship for 2017-18, to pursue new research into the role of the cerebellum in cognition.
He plans to tackle the problem of recording responses from this brain area using MEG imaging. In particular, he aims to measure the signals that train the cerebellum to predict future sensory states, and then extend this to cognitive tasks such as predictive language processing.
