Staff from the Applied Memory and Cognition Lab, in the Centre for Applied Psychology, will be hosting a free conference for FME and FNE’s who take statements from adult and child victims of sexual assault.

The conference will take place on Monday 18th March from 09:00-13:00, at the University of Birmingham.

This conference features lectures and interactive workshops, focus groups, and a networking lunch at the University of Birmingham. Topics to be covered include acute alcohol intoxication and rape complainant memory, the accuracy and reliability of children’s memory, establishing national guidelines for interviewing rape complainants during exams, communicating examination findings to juries and Section 28 and interviewing child witnesses.

The keynote will be delivered by Dr. Catherine White OBE, the Clinical Director of the St Mary’s SARC and Lisa Thompson, CEO of RSVP.
