Outstanding Impact Award 2019 awarded to Professor Jess Woodhams and Dr Kari Davies for ANPR Data Retention Project.
Professor Jess Woodhams was awarded the College of Social Sciences' Outstanding Impact Prize 2019 in the category of "Outstanding ESRC Impact Acceleration Account Project Prize" today. The project, funded by an ESRC IAA award and supported by the National Police Chief's Council and the Home Office, was conducted by Woodhams and Davies in collaboration with the London Metropolitan Police and the Serious Crime Analysis Section of the National Crime Agency. The project is testing the value of ANPR data in helping to detect serial sex offenders but, equally, it could have application to other types of serial crime.
