A delegation from the Health Services Management Centre visited Beijing at the end of October to attend the Second Global Symposium on Health Systems Research, and participate in a joint research symposium with the Department of Health Policy and Management at Peking University. During the symposium the two universities shared examples of their research and discussed progress with health care reforms in China and England.
Despite the differences in size, culture and previous arrangements within the countries, it was apparent that there are also many similarities in the challenges faced and considerable opportunity to share and learn from each other's experiences.
