Judith Smith, Deputy Chair of HSR UK and Director of the Health Services Management Centre at the University of Birmingham, yesterday chaired a plenary entitled “Lessons for International HSR from the Covid-19 pandemic” for this year’s HSR UK Conference.
The session asked what we should learn from the way that health services research has been used – or not used – by governments, and how evidence has been put to work to inform practice in areas like social distancing and new ways of organising healthcare delivery.
The two keynote speakers for this event were Josep Figueras, and Trish Greenhalgh whilst the panel of respondents included: Chiara Dall'Ora, Mark Dayan, Ashra Khanom and Manbinder Sidhu, Research Fellow at the Health Services Management Centre, University of Birmingham.
The Health Services Research UK Conference 2020 will be taking place between 1-3 July 2020 as a virtual and online conference and is completely free to anyone who wants to attend. The research papers and workshop sessions of the conference have been pre-recorded and are being uploaded onto the HSRUK website on a daily basis from 15 June 2020.
