Judith Smith, Deputy Chair of HSR UK and Director of the Health Services Management Centre at the University of Birmingham, yesterday chaired a plenary entitled “Lessons for International HSR from the Covid-19 pandemic” for this year’s HSR UK Conference.

The session asked what we should learn from the way that health services research has been used – or not used – by governments, and how evidence has been put to work to inform practice in areas like social distancing and new ways of organising healthcare delivery.

The two keynote speakers for this event were Josep Figueras, and Trish Greenhalgh  whilst the panel of respondents included: Chiara Dall'OraMark DayanAshra Khanom and Manbinder Sidhu, Research Fellow at the Health Services Management Centre, University of Birmingham.
