The University of Birmingham welcomes interested prospective apprentices to its Apprenticeship Open Day on Monday 6th Monday, as part of National Apprenticeship Week.

University of Birmingham Apprenticeship Open Day

Monday 6 March: 12 pm -2pm and 2pm- 4pm

Lucas House, University Conference Park.

The open day will provide aspiring apprentices with information on different opportunities at the University, from catering and childcare to engineering and maintenance. Visitors are invited to meet with current apprentices and their managers to find out more about the apprenticeship scheme and the various opportunities across a range of departments.

This event also marks the first step in our recruitment for the next intake and staff will be on hand to provide expert advice and guidance on the application process, as well as taking early expressions of interest.

The University’s apprenticeship programme (hyperlink) launched last summer across a varied range of professional and technical roles. Specialist training given to the Birmingham apprentices allows them to gain a solid foothold in their chosen career, and supports the University as it continues to build a diverse and skilled workforce for the future. The University will shortly open recruitment for its next intake of apprentices, beginning in September.

The University of Birmingham is one of the largest employers in the city and currently has around 7,000 members of staff, spanning a range of academic, professional, technical, manual and clerical roles.
