Fire Door Inspections

Fire door inspections within Mason will be carried out from Tuesday 14 October to Thursday 23 October 2025, with no inspections taking place over the weekend. These inspections are part of our standard safety procedures to ensure all fire doors meet regulatory requirements. Inspections will be conducted between 9am and 5pm, and access to both communal areas and individual rooms will be required.

Fire Door Works

As part of our ongoing compliance with the Fire Safety Regulations 2022, we may need access to your flat to conduct routine maintenance work on fire doors.

If access is required to your flat, you’ll receive an email with full details including dates, times, and the type of work planned - so please keep an eye on your University email for further details.

Fire door work can be noisy and may involve temporarily removing doors from their frames. All work is carried out by GTH, a trusted University contractor. Your flat will not be left unattended, and no door will be left out of its frame once work is completed.

We’re working closely with GTH to minimise disruption as much as possible. If you have any queries, please contact your Customer Service Manager.

Surveying Works

Surveying is currently taking place across communal areas in Mason, including flat hallways and riser cupboards. In some cases, over the next two months, surveyors may need access to your flat .

These surveys won’t require access to bedrooms and will be carried out by University-approved contractors.

As always, unless it’s an emergency, no work will start before 9:30AM and will only happen Monday to Friday. If you have any queries, speak to your Customer Service Manager.
