Mason Hall Construction Update
We continually invest in our residential properties to ensure students have the best possible experience with us. Advance notice is given ahead of significant work taking place.
Construction work at Mason is nearing completion and is expected to finish by the end of December 2026. The continuing works are limited to one side of Block 6, with work in all other areas now complete. The remaining major works are taking place in six unoccupied flats. In a further six flats, works are required directly outside the flat for a short period after residents move in. These works are due to be completed by early October 2026. If you are living in one of these flats, you will already have been notified.
If you have not received separate notification before booking your room, there are no works required in your block, or, if you are living in Block 6, the works are taking place on the opposite side of the block from your accommodation. While there may be some unavoidable disturbance and inconvenience during this period, we will work hard to keep disruption to a minimum.
What is the building work?
The refurbishment is being carried out in phases and is now in the final phase. The work includes the replacement of selected kitchens and the removal and reinstatement of external building panels and windows. These activities are expected to cause some noise disruption.
What times will construction take place?
Monday to Friday, between 09:00 and 18:00, wherever possible. Access to your accommodation, Mason laundrette and social space will be unaffected throughout.
