Living well: The Student Accommodation Code

We’re committed to providing you with the best student accommodation. That’s why we adhere to the Universities UK Student Accommodation Code, which provides benchmarks for the quality of our accommodation, along with management good practice.
Our responsibilities
The Code is in place to ensure we deliver what we say we will, and is centred around six core areas:
- Maintaining a healthy, safe environment
- Sorting repairs and maintenance in good time
- Creating a clean, pleasant living environment
- Providing access to health and wellbeing services
- Creating a living environment free from anti-social behaviour
- Welcoming feedback, to enhance student experience
- Providing a formal, contractual relationship between students at the University.
Your responsibilities
As part of our commitment to excellence, we provide you with important and specific information about your accommodation through several ways. This includes information you receive before you arrive (e.g. your accommodation contract, Accommodation Pass and arrivals webpages), whilst you are living with us (e.g. welcome emails, newsletters, posters in your flats) and right up until the time you leave your accommodation. We ask that you take the time to read any information we share with you and familiarise yourself with where you can access it from.
Don’t forget, you can access all of your accommodation information by visiting your Accommodation Portal at any time whilst living with us – from checking the terms and conditions of your contract to finding out how to use your oven!
If you have queries about the code, and what it means for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us via the Student Living Helpdesk, or ask your Customer Service Manager at one of your regular ‘Meet your CSM’ sessions which will be available throughout the academic year’.
