There are over 34,000 students at Birmingham, and every one of them is represented by the Guild of Students. The Guild is the University of Birmingham’s students’ union.
Eve, from Derby, 2nd year English
“The Guild of Students goes above and beyond just providing social outlets, and really provides a voice for the masses. I have also been to ValeFest, a large student-run charity festival of music, performances and activities. For me, the social life at uni is great.”
It’s home to over 250 student groups and societies, and is run by a team of seven students elected by the student community every year. The Guild works closely with the University and are here to listen to your ideas and support you throughout your time at Birmingham.
Rumali, from Poole, 2nd year Political Science and International Relations
“The Guild is home to all of the societies at Birmingham, so it definitely plays a big role in terms of student life here. It is also the home of Fab and sports nights which are some of the highlights of the week.”
You can find the Guild right on campus and it’s a friendly hub of student life. There are study spaces, cafes and even a club (Fab) in the Guild! Through the Guild, you can join a society, find a part-time job to build your employability skills, or take part in one of many volunteering opportunities.
