    Meet Ranvir

Hi! My name is Ranvir, and I am a third-year undergraduate student in the LLB course. I am from New Delhi, India and came directly to the university after completing my A-level equivalent examinations back home.

My interest in history and politics catapulted me into choosing law as an undergraduate discipline. My experience at the University of Birmingham has been amazing and has contributed towards immense personal growth. In this blog, I’ll share my thoughts about my time at UoB so far and my experience of the scholarship process.

The University of Birmingham stood out for me because of its stellar academic reputation and its plethora of extracurricular opportunities available. The university is a part of the prestigious Russell Group and the Redbrick group of universities which is evidence of the university’s academic quality.

The diversity at the university really made it stand out. Meeting people from different cultures and nationalities is something that I have enjoyed very much at UoB and in Birmingham which is incredibly diverse.

While applying for a place at UoB, I found the admission process very straightforward. I found the information webinars particularly helpful as they provided me with great insight into life at UoB. The outreach session was also immensely helpful in clarifying any doubts about the admission process.

I also applied for the ‘LLB and LLB for Graduates Scholarship’ which I was grateful to receive. The scholarship process was very well structured and simple with sufficient guidance available on the website. I would encourage every student to apply for the scholarship as it can immensely benefit their studies and student experience.

When I first came to the campus I was awestruck by the magnificent architecture. I remember I was extremely nervous going into my first lecture and while writing my first exam. Nevertheless, I was able to overcome any challenges that I faced by engaging with a wide variety of support mechanisms available at the university. I also benefited greatly from interacting with my professors who were more than happy to connect and have a chat.

As I complete my final year, I can say that studying at UoB has been a remarkable experience where I made a lot of great memories and some truly amazing friends.

The scholarship that I received from the university provided great financial assistance to me - especially as an international student - and boosted my overall confidence in my abilities. The scholarship has certainly added an overall prestige to my academic journey at the university.

I encourage everybody coming to UoB to make the most of their time here and to those looking for a university, I suggest coming to UoB for an unforgettable experience.
