If you’re studying for longer than 6 months, you’ll need to collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) when you arrive. You can choose to collect this from the University when you make your student visa application.

Graduate visa
If you’d like to stay and work in the UK once your time at university ends, you can. You’ll just need to apply for, and be granted, a graduate visa first.
