Semester / Year long Exchange
The University of Birmingham offers exchange opportunities for students from partner universities around the world.
The University of Birmingham offers a wide range of European and International Exchange opportunities, giving students the chance to study abroad and experience different cultures while earning credit toward their degree. Today we have one of the largest international student communities in the UK with over 8,700 students from more than 150 countries worldwide currently studying with us.

Depending on your home country and the agreement with your home university, there are two study options available.
Semester Exchange: We offer semester places for up to 6 months in either Autumn or Spring for students studying at one of our partner universities. You are required to take 60 UK credits for the semester exchange.
Year long Exchange: We offer year long places from September to June for students studying at partner universities. You are required to take 120 UK credits for your year long exchange.
Both exchange routes require your home university to nominate you before you can apply.
