The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP) aims to help increase the number of women in the nuclear field, supporting an inclusive workforce of both men and women who contribute to and drive global scientific and technological innovation.
Named after pioneer physicist and twice Nobel Prize laureate Marie Skłodowska-Curie, the Programme aims to inspire and encourage young women to pursue a career in the nuclear field, by providing highly motivated female students with scholarships for Master’s programmes and an opportunity to pursue an internship facilitated by the IAEA.
Selected students receive a scholarship for Master’s programmes in nuclear related studies at accredited universities. They are also provided with an opportunity to pursue an internship facilitated by the IAEA.
Scholarships are awarded annually. In the selection of students consideration is given to field of study, and geographic and linguistic diversity as well as other factors.
The students are awarded up to €20,000 for tuition costs (approx. £17,000) and up to €20,000 for living costs (approx. £17,000) for the master’s programme. Applicants are required to declare if they have additional scholarships and to provide relevant documents, in which case the IAEA's financial support would be reduced accordingly, i.e. only covering tuition costs up to €20,000 (approx. £17,000) for the duration of the programme. Failure to provide such information in a timely and transparent manner may lead to suspension of the IAEA's financial support.
