The Martingale Foundation is proud to offer fully-funded scholarships to applicants interested in studying the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and MSc Artificial Intelligence at the University of Birmingham.

The award includes:

  • All tuition fees and a stipend set according to the Living Wage Foundation.
  • Tailored university application support that covers the application process for each university.
  • A comprehensive professional development programme that includes leadership training and connections with top academic and industry professionals.
  • Membership of a prestigious research community.

This scholarship is available to apply externally via Martingale, and not directly via the University of Birmingham. Interested parties should complete an application for Martingale first, and will then be advised by Martingale on next steps with regards to making an application for one of the MScs listed above.

Please note that the University of Birmingham is not involved in the scholarship application process.

Who can apply?

To be eligible, you must:

  1. Have achieved, or be on track to achieve, a First or Upper-Second Class (or equivalent) in your most recent taught degree in a relevant subject.
  2. Be intending to study MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning or MSc Artificial Intelligence at the University of Birmingham in the 2026/27 academic year.
  3. Qualify for Home fee status for tuition fee payments.
  4. Have been to school in the UK or Ireland for at least three years between the ages of 11 and 18; or if not, for at least seven years between the ages of 4 and 18.
  5. Have completed your GCSEs or equivalent at a state-funded school, or received a scholarship or bursary covering least 90% of fees to attend a fee-paying school or college.
  6. Have faced or are facing financial barriers, including having a household income of £45,000 or under.

Students who qualify for Home tuition fee payment and are intending to study either MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning or MSc Artificial Intelligence at the University of Birmingham in the 2026/27 academic year can apply for this scholarship.
