Richardson Family Future Talent in Investments Scholarship is launched in partnership with The Richardson Brothers Foundation, this scholarship supports two outstanding Home students each year with a £10,000 contribution towards their Master's tuition fees — and opens the door to real-world experience in the investments sector.
About the scholarship
The Richardson Business was founded more than 70 years ago in Oldbury, in the heart of the Black Country, and remains a Midlands-rooted business today. As leaders in growth capital and real estate investment, the Richardson's have established this scholarship to develop the next generation of talent in the UK investments sector. Two scholarships of £10,000 are available for the 2026–27 academic year, open to Home students on eligible Birmingham Business School MSc programmes.
What you'll receive
- A £10,000 contribution towards your Master's tuition fees for 2026–27.
- An invitation to a Richardson Scholar event on campus, where you'll meet representatives of the Richardson Brothers Foundation, receive expert insight, and connect with fellow scholars.
- Opportunities to apply for a two-week Richardson Business summer internship.
- Potential access to further employability opportunities, including business treks and mentoring.
Scholars will be asked to share a short year-end reflection on how the scholarship has supported their studies and career plans.
Who can apply?
To apply you must:
- Be domiciled in the UK and recorded as Home for fee purposes.
- Hold an offer for one of the following eligible MSc programmes:
Applications are particularly encouraged from students who attended secondary school or sixth form in the following areas (considered in priority order):
- The Black Country (Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, and Wolverhampton).
- The broader West Midlands region (Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire)

How to Apply
To apply please complete the following steps:
- Submit your application to study one of the eligible postgraduate finance programmes at Birmingham Business School (see above who can apply section).
- If your application is successful, you will be emailed a scholarship application link shortly after receiving your offer letter.
- Apply for your scholarship via the application link by the deadline. A University panel will review all submissions and select two recipients based on the strength and clarity of the written responses.
- All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by email.
The deadline for applications is 1 June 2026.
