The Faculty for the Future program, launched by the Schlumberger Foundation, supports women from developing and emerging economies to pursue advanced graduate studies (PhD or post-doctoral research) in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines at leading universities worldwide. The program aims to empower women to become leaders and role models in STEM fields and to contribute to the socio-economic development of their home countries.

Who can apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be women from developing or emerging countries where women are underrepresented in STEM.
  • Be preparing for a PhD or post-doctoral research in a STEM discipline (Master’s degrees are not funded).
  • Be enrolled, admitted, or have applied to a university or research institute abroad.
  • Demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential.
  • Be committed to returning to their home country to contribute to its development through teaching, research, or policy.
  • Have a proven record of teaching and community outreach, especially in encouraging girls and women into STEM.
