Why did you choose to study at the University of Birmingham?

I chose to study at the University of Birmingham because of its strong global reputation and academic excellence. As one of the most prestigious universities internationally, I was confident that studying here would provide me with high-quality education and valuable opportunities to support my future career in pharmacy.

What made you choose your course, and what interested you most about the subject?

I have been interested in clinical pharmacy since I first began my pharmacy studies, and that’s why the MSc Clinical Pharmacy programme at the University of Birmingham stood out to me. 

What do you enjoy most about your course?

The integration of theoretical knowledge with real clinical experience. We had the opportunity to gain practical insight into how the UK healthcare system operates, which made the course particularly appealing and rewarding. The clinical placements have allowed me to apply what I have learned in practice, develop my clinical reasoning skills, and better understand patient-centred care within the UK healthcare setting.

How would you describe the teaching, learning environment, and support from your lecturers?

I have been impressed by the teaching and learning environment since my first day. The UK education system encourages critical thinking, independence, and active participation. The support provided by lecturers and supervisors has been excellent—they are approachable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in students’ academic and professional development.

How has your course helped you develop the knowledge and skills you'll need for your future career?

The course has significantly strengthened my clinical knowledge and enhanced some fundamental key skills such as critical thinking, communication, and evidence-based decision-making.

What are your career goals after graduation, and how has your course prepared you to achieve them?

After graduation, I aim to apply the knowledge and skills I have gained from this MSc in a role focused on pharmacovigilance and medication safety. I am particularly interested in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines, monitoring adverse drug reactions, and contributing to patient safety initiatives.
