Why did you originally apply to do your chosen course at Birmingham?

I chose to study Computer Science at Birmingham because of its strong reputation and the chance to experience a different education system.

What do you think are the best points of your course?

The best parts of my course are the mix of theory and practical work, and the variety of topics like networking, operating systems, and computer vision. It also helps you build problem-solving skills and think more independently, which is really useful.

What’s the best thing about studying at Birmingham?

The best thing about studying at Birmingham is campus life. There are always events going on, and it’s a really diverse environment with lots of activities and societies to get involved in.

What’s the highlight of your time at the University?

One of the highlights of my time at the University has been meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. It has broadened my perspective both academically and personally, making my study abroad experience truly valuable.

What advice would you give to students thinking about studying on the course?

I would advise students to stay organised and keep up with coursework from the beginning. The modules can be challenging, so managing your time well and practicing consistently will make a big difference. Also, don’t be afraid to ask for help when needed.

Is there anything extra students thinking about studying on the course should know?

Students should be prepared for a more independent style of learning compared to other systems. Taking initiative, reviewing lecture materials, and practicing outside of class are key to succeeding.
