What has been your biggest achievement during your course so far?

Being elected as deputy head of sport on Burn FM.

What are the best things about your course?

I am constantly exposed to new form of writing, finding myself inspired by content I would never have pursued otherwise. I’ve also met some great friends who I hope I will know for a very long time.

Tell us about yourself and your journey to postgraduate study

I decided I would be a professional writer aged 6. Unfortunately the journey didn’t end with that decision. It also required three years of undergrad study as well as two years working as a professional copywriter in central London. When I found my career stagnating and was assured I wouldn’t spend part of my degree in a lockdown, I decided 2023 was the year to go back to university and focus purely on my passion for creative writing.

What was your motivation for postgraduate study?

I always intended to further my creative writing career as I thoroughly enjoyed the creative writing half on my undergraduate degree. After spending a few years in the workforce during the COVID lockdowns I decided it was time to come back.
