How did you know the University of Birmingham was the right choice for you?
I fell in love with the campus as soon as I saw it - I had a gut feeling this was where I belonged. I loved the library too and once I saw the modern interior I immediately felt happy. Plus, it was the only university that offered Human Neuroscience, the degree I wanted to study. Another key reason is that Birmingham is close to home so I knew that if I ever felt homesick, my home was just a train ride away.
How has Birmingham helped you throughout your time here?
There have been times when the University has helped me. For example, when I have been struggling with my mental health, the university provided me with free counselling sessions. I know there is always someone I can talk to whenever I am struggling. Work-wise, my personal tutor has helped me whenever I'm stuck on something in my lecture. Personal tutors usually do drop in sessions every week so I have used these to my advantage.
What's your favourite place on campus?
I like the Bramall Music Hall as this is where i had most of my psychology lectures in my second year. I also watched classical music concerts there and it has been one of the best experiences in my life.
