How have you found your time at Birmingham?
My journey to Birmingham began two years before I even applied. During high school, an alumni student visited our school to share his study abroad experience, and he instantly became a role model for me. From that moment, studying internationally became my dream. Now, being at University of Birmingham feels like that dream has come true, and every day I'm reminded of how far I've come and how fortunate I am to be part of this vibrant academic community.
What do you like the most about the university?
I love the supportive teaching environment at Birmingham—the professors are polite, approachable, and genuinely invested in helping students succeed. The 24/7 library during term time has been a lifesaver for my studies, and I appreciate the inclusivity shown through faith rooms across campus. My favourite spot, though, is Vale Lake. It's incredibly quiet and refreshing, offering the perfect escape when I need a break from academics.
How has the degree helped you so far/what do you find you enjoy the most?
My degree has opened doors both academically and professionally. I've been able to connect with like-minded students who share my interests, which has made learning collaborative and inspiring. The career support at Birmingham is excellent - career fairs have given me real insight into industry opportunities. What I've enjoyed most is getting involved with societies like AlgoSoc and CSS, which have been invaluable for developing my skills, networking, and building friendships with people who are equally passionate about computer science.
