Why did you originally apply to do BSc Mathematics at Birmingham?

The University offered a large range of interesting modules, allowing for complete choice in third year of the modules you want to study. The campus is also beautiful, with lots of green space and is also the only university in the country with a train station on campus.

What do you think are the best points BSc Mathematics?

There is lots of support available for Maths students as well as a lot of spaces available for us to work together on problems. The lectures are also very interesting and engaging.

What is the best thing about studying at the University of Birmingham?

There’s a big sense of community within the school of Mathematics, which makes you feel very welcome! The campus is also beautiful and the city is only a 7 minute train journey away from campus.

What is the highlight of your time at the University?

Being a part of Mathsoc and going to the various events they hold each year, such as the Mathsoc annual spring ball!

What advice would you give to students thinking about studying BSc Mathematics?

Look at the modules offered on the course and decide which ones appeal to you the most. Don’t be afraid to get stuck into the new style of Maths taught ay university level and don’t be afraid to ask questions!
