How did you know that the University of Birmingham was the right choice for you?

I chose Birmingham for its world-class reputation - the Business School’s rare triple-crown accreditation really stood out. I was also drawn to its leadership and skill development opportunities, mentorship programs, and proximity to major business hubs. It felt like a place where I could grow academically and professionally while gaining real-world exposure, making connections, and being part of a supportive and vibrant community.

Why did you choose to study your course?

I’ve always been fascinated by how businesses operate globally. My course lets me explore how economic, cultural, political, and technological forces interact in international business management. I wanted a programme that combines theory with practical insights, helping me tackle complex global challenges while developing strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. It’s exciting to learn how business works at an international level and prepare for real-world opportunities.

What is student life like for you?

Student life at UoB is exciting, diverse, and full of opportunities to grow. I’m actively involved in Enactus, working on a real-world project, and I regularly participate in events and workshops with the Business, Investment, and Consulting Society. As a Business School representative, I’ve developed leadership and communication skills while helping to represent student voices. Programs like the Future Leaders Certificate and B Experienced have been fantastic for building practical skills and confidence. On top of that, accommodation socials, cultural nights, networking events, and volunteering make it easy to meet people and feel part of the community. I love how student life here blends learning, personal growth, and fun, giving you endless ways to try new things, gain experience, and connect with people from all over the world.

What's your favourite memory of university life so far?

My favourite memory is Christmas on campus. From the twinkling lights and festive carousel rides to the craft workshops, food stalls, and spectacular light show, it felt magical. Sharing the festive spirit with friends, exploring the activities, and enjoying the community atmosphere made it a truly unforgettable experience — one that perfectly captures the fun, warmth, and excitement of student life at Birmingham.

What advice would you give to current or prospective students?

I’d encourage students to get involved in societies and events — it’s a great way to learn new skills, make friends, and have fun. Be proactive, explore leadership, skill programs, and volunteering opportunities, and step out of your comfort zone. Manage your time well, embrace every opportunity, and make the most of what UoB has to offer academically, socially, and personally.
