How did you get into your sport?
I got into dancing in primary school when I joined with my friend. Coming to UoB has given me the opportunity to keep dancing as well as learning new styles and even performing in an end of year showcase in front of family and friends. Apart from dancing, I have also been able to try new sports such as football and trampolining due to the variety of sports clubs open to students.
What was the main reason you chose Birmingham?
The main reason I chose Birmingham was because of how comfortable I felt on my offer holder visit day. Everyone who I spoke to were so welcoming and willing to answer any questions I had about the course or living in Birmingham. As well as this I was enticed by the variety of topics I would learn about throughout the course and how many different ways I could use my degree in the future.
How have you found managing your time?
I have found managing my time fairly straightforward due to the support I receive from the university. Each module gives you important dates at the start of term so you can keep yourself organised in the run up to practicals, assignments and exam. This helps me stay up to date with any work I have to do whilst also being able to factor in extracurricular and social events. As well as this, the university also offers support sessions which can help you develop organisational and revision skills.
What are your top 3 tips for prospective students?
- Make sure you look into the course you’re applying for and ensure the modules offered are what you’re interested in and what you’ll enjoy doing.
- Look around where you’ll be living, make sure it’s somewhere you feel comfortable and can envision yourself living.
- Look into what extracurriculars the Uni offers so you can look into what sports or societies you can join, maybe even try something new.
What are your future career plans after graduation?
I’m doing the integrated masters attached to my programme.
