Brief description of career path since graduation

Working as a graduate at EY within Financial Services, Audit department. I applied for the grad role in the final year of university and secured the offer in December to start at EY the following September.

Why did you choose to study Environmental Science at Birmingham?

Great campus

Positive open day experience

What skills/knowledge did you develop at Birmingham the helped you to follow your career path?

Ability to work in teams through multiple group projects.

Strengthened independence/resourcefulness when working on coursework/essay writing.

Professional placement module was pivotal. Was extremely useful to gain experience within a professional environment. Enabled me to prepare for my current role well in regards to building relationships with colleagues especially.

What advice would you give to current students studying on your degree programme?

Highly recommend the professional placement module to gain early insight as to how your life after university could be.

You don't need to know exactly what you want to do after university. Be open to anything and choose avenues that maybe you wouldn't normally pick, as it may open doors/create opportunities that could benefit you in the future.
