Why did you choose to study at University of Birmingham?

The course, campus and facilities and accessibility to the city

Did you face any challenges when deciding what university to study at and, if so, what helped you to choose Birmingham?

I was torn between a few universities, however I was drawn to Birmingham because of its layout and campus. Other universities lacked the campus feel.

What is the highlight or biggest achievement of your time at the University of Birmingham?

A highlight/achievement of mine would be when I helped film the video for promoting Human Sciences as a course at the university.

What are your future plans for after you have graduated?

Hopefully to get onto a graduate scheme or gain more work experience in an environmental field.

What skills and knowledge did you learn at University of Birmingham?

I have gained more social skills as a student ambassador, as well as by taking part in societies such as social netball, football and badminton. I have learnt new core skills from my course such as coding, essay writing, and building a more critical viewpoint.

How have your experiences as a student helped you to think about your future plans, or secure your job?

I have taken advantage of opportunities such as career talks related to environmental sustainability to gain greater insight to the field, which has helped me think about potential future jobs. It has also given me the confidence to contact people and learn more about their research which is happening at the university. Learning a variety of content has also helped me consider the vast opportunities available post-graduation.

What advice would you give to students thinking about studying at University of Birmingham?

Make use of the vast opportunities and facilities, such as talks; societies; and buildings such as the library and the gym.
