Why did you originally apply to do MSci Chemistry at Birmingham?
Birmingham has a competitive chemistry course with state-of-the-art facilities and is very highly regarded in industry. However, it was the parks, green spaces and very active social culture which meant I could really see myself living in Birmingham.
What do you think are the best points of MSci Chemistry?
The facilities and lecturers at Birmingham make the practical course fantastic. We get to use the same equipment that is used in industry, which is great as it lets us adjust to spending time in a modern lab environment.
What’s the best thing about studying at the University of Birmingham?
UoB has a very sociable extracurricular culture which means you can study hard whilst also getting involved in sports and societies and making friends which leads to a full and enriching university experience.
What’s your highlight of your time at the University?
I have met the most amazing people and become involved in so many sports, societies and activities where I have made friends for life.
What advice would you give to students thinking about studying MSci Chemistry?
Always ask questions, there really is no such thing as a silly question! The lecturers are brilliant, but they aren’t mind readers; you have to take charge of your own learning.
