Why did you choose Pharmacy at the University of Birmingham?

I chose to study Pharmacy at the University of Birmingham after carefully researching universities and the placement opportunities they offered. What particularly stood out to me was the opportunity to undertake placements at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, one of the largest single-site hospitals in the United Kingdom.

Was there anything that stood out to you about your course at Birmingham?

The University offers Interprofessional Education (IPE) sessions, where healthcare students from different disciplines come together to work collaboratively on shared projects. These sessions are designed to develop key interprofessional skills and prepare us to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) in future clinical practice. The combination of strong clinical placements, interprofessional learning, and the University’s excellent academic reputation reassured me that Birmingham would provide both high-quality teaching and invaluable real-world experience.

What do you want to do after graduating?

After graduating, I aim to pursue a career as either an industrial pharmacist or a hospital pharmacist. The University of Birmingham has supported this ambition by providing opportunities to attend conferences and networking events, allowing me to build connections with professionals and potential employers. Developing these connections has been invaluable in opening doors to future opportunities and shaping my career aspirations.
