Student

Hi, I’m Millie, a first-year History of Art undergraduate at the University of Birmingham!

I’m captivated by the power of art in telling stories across different periods, styles, and identities, especially through the varied mediums artists use to interpret the wider world. I love the energy of contemporary street art, with Banksy as a favourite and I’m just as absorbed by the detail and symbolism in Baroque and Renaissance works…Vermeer’s ‘The Milkmaid’ and Holbein’s ‘The Ambassadors’ are highlights for me.

Art has inspired me from an early age, whether in galleries or whilst in the urban landscape and it’s what has naturally led me to Uni of Birmingham. Together with studying Art History, I enjoy creating my own work through spray-painting, wire sculpture, and illustration.

Overall, I am someone who loves making the most of the creative world, and I’m continuing to investigate this further throughout my degree!
