Why did you originally apply to do BEng Chemical Engineering at Birmingham?
The excellent track-record of Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham in academic rankings. The module options drew me in as well, especially the fascinating optional modules during the third year. And the University has strong industrial company employment links, which really helps with career development!
What do you think are the best points of BEng Chemical Engineering?
The modules are very well-rounded, they cover Chemical Engineering in a holistic way, with additional practical aspects like using programming/coding/engineering software tools. The projects are assigned in a way that helps me expand my skill set and apply it in the real world.
What’s the best thing about studying at the University of Birmingham?
The campus! The lecture theatres, green spaces and study areas are all excellent and make studying here a wonderful experience.
What’s your highlight of your time at the University?
Overcoming obstacles during group projects by being able to collaborate with like-minded people in challenging and interesting tasks was a great aspect for me.
What advice would you give to students thinking about studying BEng Chemical Engineering?
Do your research well by talking to current students in the course to really grasp their experiences. Make a holistic evaluation of your interests, skills, career aspirations and what this degree has to offer for you.
