With over five years in Business Development and Marketing, I specialise in driving revenue in e-commerce and startup environments. At Shopee, the largest e-commerce platform in South East Asia, I managed a team and drove $7 million in annual revenue through affiliate marketing solutions, including a pioneering livestream monetization project generating $400,000 monthly. Previously at Medisetter, a Medtech startup, I built the platform from the ground up, leveraging network effects to onboard over 10,000 users in six months through strategic partnerships. My expertise lies in monetization strategy, account management, user acquisition, and scaling operations.
Why did you choose to study an MBA at the University of Birmingham?
The University of Birmingham’s practical, consulting-focused approach creates an ideal synergy: I can apply my agile business development skills while mastering rigorous strategic frameworks. A decisive factor was being awarded the prestigious £30,000 MBA Scholarship; this investment in my potential motivated me to choose Birmingham as the ideal place to refine my leadership skills. I was also drawn to the 'Purposeful Leader' module; I believe that to succeed in any field, leadership is more than just being commercially astute, it must be ethically grounded. The curriculum offers the perfect balance of hard strategic skills and responsible leadership development.
What are your career aspirations after completing the MBA?
I aim to transition into a senior strategic position within a multinational technology company, focusing on business transformation and market expansion. My goal is to combine the agile business skills gained from my background with the formal leadership frameworks from the MBA to solve global business challenges. Long-term, I aspire to lead a tech enterprise that prioritises ethical growth and sustainability, serving as a bridge between Asian and Western tech ecosystems.
