How did you know that the University of Birmingham was the right choice for you?

I knew the University of Birmingham was the right choice because of its strong academic reputation and high ranking, which align well with my future plans. Located in Birmingham, the UK’s second-largest city, it offers great career opportunities after graduation. I was also impressed by the wide range of student support services, the beautiful green campus, modern facilities, and especially how much I love my course here.

Why did you choose to study your course?

I chose my course after careful consideration, as it’s an important decision for me. I was immediately drawn to it because of its well-organised structure and relevant modules that closely reflect current industry trends. When I read through the module list, they genuinely made me excited to learn more. The course also includes field trips to companies, helping bridge the gap between theory and practice while allowing us to engage with industry professionals and develop critical thinking skills.

What is student life like for you?

For me, student life is meaningful when I feel happy and excited to go to class every day and learn something new, with great support from both lecturers and friends. It’s also about taking care of myself through sports and staying active, while building strong friendships with people from different backgrounds. Beyond studying, student life at Birmingham means experiencing new things, travelling, and exploring new cities during my time in the UK.

What's your favourite memory of university life so far?

My favourite memory so far was when my class celebrated Christmas together. Our Programme Director joined us and even ordered pizza for everyone. We ate together while playing a Kahoot quiz he created, which was really fun and interactive. After that, we played different games, laughed a lot, and got to know each other better. It was a warm and memorable moment that made me feel truly connected to my classmates and lecturers.

What advice would you give to current or prospective students?

My advice is to have a clear plan and goals for your time at Birmingham. When you know what you want to achieve, it’s much easier to manage your time effectively and make the most of every opportunity. Stay proactive in your studies, and don’t hesitate to ask for help.
