What does a typical day in your life look like?
A typical day at University is me waking up around 9am to go to the gym. I spend around 2 hours there and come back and get ready for my lecture at 12 pm. I will normally have lectures until around 5 pm. I between I complete any emails or spent time with my friends who are also on my course. After my lectures have finished i will usually stay in the library either the main library or Medical School Library until 9pm. During that time i will use it to make lecture notes and rewatch lectures from that day or the day before.
What is student life like for you?
My student experience is quite amazing. I made amazing friends in my course, first year accommodation and various activities. During my second year I was apart of the African Caribbean Society as Social Media Officer, where i could meet an array of students and people and strength my friendships with committee. I couldn't recommend it enough.
I also worked on campus as a Student Caller raising money for talented student from disadvantaged backgrounds which was really rewarding and got to build rapport with a wide range of alumni.
My favourite places on campus is definitely the Main Library due to how modern it is and Old Joe!
What advice would you give to future students?
My advice would be try not to fall behind especially during first term of first year when there is the most social events occurring, as this will definitely have a knock on effect to second semester.
I also wish I stressed less about making friends, as long as you are social and put yourself out your comfort zone but remain true to yourself you will eventually find your people.
