A student studying International Relations with Economics at the University of Birmingham.

With great aspirations to be a diplomat, it was with a curious and questioning mind that I ventured into the subject of International Relations. I found myself drawn to this particular subject as the very nature, scope, and intricate relationships between nations fascinated and intrigued me. In my quest for knowledge and understanding of the international economy, I wanted to delve a little deeper leading me to choose economics as my minor. As UoB offered this interdisciplinary approach as a single course, I had a strong preference for UoB while applying. By this, I am able to analyse how geopolitics affects the national and international economy and how the economy in terms of the trade itself can lead to geopolitical tensions.
