Assistant Manager with five years of experience in engineering maintenance, leading a team of 16 in a zinc manufacturing unit. I spearheaded multiple digitalisation initiatives that reduced significant production losses and enhanced operational excellence and sustainability. I also led an award-winning project that delivered over $88K in operational cost savings, receiving the Par Excellence Award at NCQC 2021 by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI) and qualifying for the International Convention on Quality Control Circles 2022 in Indonesia. My expertise spans digital transformation and cross-functional project management, driving cost reductions and process optimisation in complex industrial environments.
Why did you choose to study an MBA at the University of Birmingham?
I selected Birmingham Business School to bridge the gap between my technical engineering background and the strategic business acumen required for leadership roles. The MBA’s focus on “Strategy in a Complex World” and “Sustainable Operations” aligns with my interest in digital transformation and operational excellence. I was particularly drawn to the practical learning opportunities, including the Deloitte Consultancy Challenge and the “Purposeful Leader” module, which offer real-world application of skills. UoB’s reputation as a top employer-targeted university and its diverse, global cohort provide the ideal environment to enhance my leadership capabilities for a global career.
What are your career aspirations after completing the MBA?
In the short term, I aim to pursue operations consulting or engineering consulting roles within the manufacturing sector, applying my engineering expertise and digital transformation experience to improve efficiency and sustainability. In the long term, I aspire to progress into senior leadership roles such as Chief Operations Officer, where I can drive innovation, mentor emerging professionals, and shape technology-enabled business transformation. I am passionate about leading diverse, cross-functional teams and delivering high-impact strategic initiatives that foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
