Hello, My name is Toby, and currently I’m in my first year studying BA French and Spanish at the University of Birmingham.
People have always asked me why study languages, and I simply respond back saying that it has shaped me into the person I am today. Having the ability to speak two of the most widely spoken languages has allowed me to break away from the constraints of my neurodiversity. Speaking in several languages has constructed an identity where I have the freedom to be myself and by studying this course, I’m able to widen my understanding of the varying and fascinating cultures and language variations within both the francophone and Hispanic speaking universe. This course has helped me further my passion for studying languages whilst also living my best life.
