University can seem very daunting when you first come but with time you will learn how things work here and what are good things to do during your time at university. Here are 5 tips and tricks that I wish I knew before heading to university!
When I first came here, I brought way too much stuff and ended up making my room feel very small in the process! Bring things you will genuinely use and leave the things that you ‘may’ use one day. You can always buy/borrow when you get here!
Uni can seem very scary especially if you’re moving away from home and leaving your friends and family. Just know that you will make friends and find people who you love. It may take some time and searching but there really is a place for everyone at university!
This will really help you to feel more organised and healthier whilst at university. Once you know the basics, its easy to branch out and start cooking more interesting meals. Knowing the basics also makes cooking (and living alone in general) feel less daunting.
Sometimes things happen, and work will fall behind. Just know that this is okay and there are many avenues of support at university to help you get back on track!
It's taken me a while for this but uni really does start to feel like a home away from home. I am now in my fourth year and live with such close friends that feel like family, have a part time job as well as studying, am part of an amazing society. University will start feeling comfortable for you, it may take some time but you’ll forget what life was like before it!
