Interacting with classmates from different countries has broadened my horizons and deepened my understanding of various philosophical, theological, and religious traditions.
Studying philosophy, theology, and religion in a foreign country has presented its share of challenges. The academic rigour and the nuances of different educational systems required some adjustment. However, the academics and support staff at the University of Birmingham have been invaluable in guiding me through this transition. Their expertise, encouragement, and open-door policy have fostered an inclusive learning environment, where I feel comfortable expressing my thoughts and exploring complex ideas.
The curriculum at the School has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of diverse philosophical and theological perspectives. From ancient Greek philosophy to modern ethical debates, I have delved into the works of influential thinkers and engaged in critical discussions with my peers. This exposure has not only deepened my knowledge, but also challenged my own preconceived notions. It has pushed me to think critically and develop my own philosophical and theological voice.
