Birmingham my new home!

My home away from home

Birmingham City Centre from an ariel view as sun is setting, BT tower in the distance

As a daring international student hailing from the lively streets of India, I embarked on a journey to Birmingham seven months before and it's been quite the adventure since then.

From day one, Birmingham has welcomed me with open arms, offering a perfect mix of urban buzz and countryside serenity. Every corner of this city has a story waiting to be discovered. Student life in Birmingham has been a journey on its own, with the campus buzzing with energy, drawing students from around the globe. The diversity here is unmatched, sparking instant connections and endless possibilities.

And who could forget The Bullring? It's not just a shopping centre, it's a paradise for someone like me, who needs the usual retail fix. And don't even get me started on the Christmas market, the festive spirit here is contagious and warms you up with holiday cheer.

But there's more to the city than just shopping. There are stunning gardens and lakes scattered throughout the city, where I find myself unwinding from time to time. The sereneness is the perfect escape to bring in some calmness.

And of course, no uni life would be complete without a taste of nightlife. Broad Street comes alive on Saturday nights, filled with music and laughter as my friends and I make memories that'll last a lifetime.

This city is my home away from home and I love every bit of it!
