Experiences Through UoB's Clubs, Societies, and Career Support

University is about so much more than studying for your degree as it becomes an opportunity to try new things and get involved with clubs, societies and volunteering.

Joining the Yoga Society was one of the best decisions I made at UoB. Initially, I just wanted to try something new to stay active during the winter months. Little did I know yoga would become a passion! While I couldn't make it to the studio for every session (deadlines, am I right?), the Soc inspired me to start a daily practice on my own. Even if it was just 15 minutes on my bedroom floor, those moments of mindfulness became my secret weapon for managing stress. My proudest achievement so far? Scoring a spot on the Yoga Soc's annual surf & yoga summer retreat in Spain! Three glorious days of catching waves and catching breath. I can't wait.

The Active Residencies badminton sessions are another amazing highlight of my time at UoB. Not only was it a fun and engaging way to exercise, but it provided an excellent opportunity to socialise. The coaches did an outstanding job of creating an energetic, inclusive atmosphere that catered to both total beginners and experienced players alike.

UoB's exceptional career support has been valuable in shaping my professional journey. From conducting mock interviews to providing insider tips on the company's processes, their personalized guidance was incredible. They've helped me map out a comprehensive plan for job hunting, polish my CV, and figure out the right career path that aligns with my passions and strengths. I'm so grateful for their dedication to ensure students have all the necessary resources and mentorship to confidently pursue their dreams.
