We have a fantastic library and services at UoB!
Here are some of the services that I love using:
We have 96 loanable laptops you can pick up from the Main Library so you don’t have to buy one for uni or carry your personal one around all of the time. All the libraries also have computers you can use.
You can book a room for group work or quiet study with your friends - great for practising presentations!
A scheme where you can borrow a book or content that you need from other libraries if UoB does not have. I’ve had a book shipped from Hong Kong! You can also use study spaces and books at other libraries if you are visiting other cities. This is perfect for students completing a dissertation or conducting specific research.
The Library has a cafés where you can buy food and drink and chill out in between studying sessions. Toilets, water fountains and even blankets throughout the Library also make it a comfortable experience.
We have world-leading collections and archives of important manuscripts and publications that academics outside of the university use too. We have 7 libraries altogether with 2.7 million books and over 16,000 e-sources!!
You can borrow up to 16-20 books from our libraries for use at home. As a commuter student, this is great as I can use books during the weekends at home or for students visiting family in their home towns/countries during vacations.

I have a passion for history and thinking of joining the Civil Service or maybe working in the depths of a museum workin...
