Societies at UoB for everyone!

I became a member of the Students' Association for Neurodivergence, Disability and Mental Health (also known as SANDAM Society) because of its inclusive nature and diversity. The society meets weekly, alternating between online and on-campus sessions, and also includes fortnightly coffee and tea gatherings. Additionally, they offer free food, which is always a bonus. The meetings take place on Fridays from 12 to 2 pm in a quiet and secure space that I find very comfortable.
Through my involvement with this society, I have made new friends, and I enjoyed it so much that I applied for and successfully secured the role of new Campaigns officer for the upcoming year! My goal in this position is to positively impact student lives by advocating for student voices and challenging the university for change.
On the other hand, I am also a member of the Education Society, and I particularly enjoy being a part of it as they organise various events. The upcoming event that I am eagerly anticipating is the School of Education Cultural Show on June 7th, 2024. It's is open to everyone, not just those affiliated with the School of Education. I am thrilled and so excited about attending as I believe it will be a great time.
In conclusion, joining a society is super beneficial as it allows you to make friends, build confidence, and engage in enjoyable activities to make the most out of your time at university!
